Highlights the differences between US and UK media

When compared to the David Brent movie.

I had high hopes for both and enjoyed them both but was ultimately let down. Neither was as hilarious as I had hoped.

Both movies are mockcumentaries about the music bussiness.

Popstar followed the more traditional format having a low point for Connor just before he reunited with the other guys, proved he had grown and learnt from his mistakes and then had a happy ending.
The production value also seemed showier and the comedy was louder and more US where as David Brent's comedy was drier and British.

David Brent was at times depressing and awkward to watch and while there was a slight silver lining at the end with the girl he works with, it wasn't a happy Hollywood ending by any chance. Didn't learn or grow at all as a character.

Not saying one is better than the other, would rank them equal, but thought it was an interesting contrast.

Anyone else seen both? Thoughts?

Not saying
