She was very relatable in the first episode but did get annoyingly smirky from there.
I realize the series was about her character investigating her husband's murde but she was just too much. I think that generally the series was badly directed with little to no suspense and too much reliance on Sheridan Smith as the only focus on the show.
There was no attempt to get to know any of the other characters. So it was a bit hard to buy Jo's close relationship with the other police officers.
