Charming

Coming of age stories have been a staple of cinema for several decades, whether it’s observing the tortured move towards adulthood for troubled youth, or watching the story of average people grapple with the inevitability of maturity and the issues it promises. It is in the latter category that Rosemary Myers’ Girl Asleep falls into. An examination of how her imminent 15th birthday affects a young girl named Greta, the film is delightfully charming, a surprisingly pleasant entry in the genre that is boosted by a solid lead performance: http://www.cutprintfilm.com/reviews/girl-asleep/
