his mother was special needs to the fullest.


and being special needs myself I am not making fun of anyone with actual special needs.

I am watching this on lifetime and I just got through the art scene. the mother is just embarrassing with her proclaiming 'I don't understand. ' it's art. no one should have to explain what their own artwork means.

yeah, things have titles but usually what ends up happening is the artist's true intentions come out in little nuances within the work rather than 'let me tell you what to think by naming it'.




I teach Visual Thinking Strategies at my school -- art interpretation through writing -- and we are trained not to say the name of the artwork or who did it. whatever the students say -- especially if they can back it up -- if plausible and acceptable.
