IIRC, there was a cut between those two shots, meaning there are reasons behind it.

I know that in scyfy shows the norm is to make it totally ok to have girls beat up guys and punch them out.
It's also not uncommon down our boxing club, actually. You'd be surprised.
Is it for some girl power reason or something more logical?
In general, it's a combination of things, although in this particular instance there are some very good and very logical reasons in the story.

Because while girls punching and beating up guys is so common girls beating up and punching out girls is so rare.
But guys catfighting with guys is even rarer...

I was just curious about the male being assaulted by girl scene. I like to know the reasons behind it. I am intrigued by it but not enough to watch the entire show. I watch too many shows already over 20+ currently running shows of different genres actually....
I actually watched the 1st episode and was bored. Sorry no disrespect. In my other thread I gave the rationale why I asked this in Killjoy /Dark Matter/ Van Helsing boards and not other boards where I actually follow the show.
But if you tell me a specific scene I always dig through the backstory once I locate the scene to get context but in a time efficient manner. Yes I am asking you to save me some time :)

Once you or anyone tells me of the existence of such scenes in a particular episode I sort of reverse engineer the context in a time optimal manner.

OK, in brief:
She was a highly trained assassin and is currently one of the top-rated bounty hunters in the system.
He is ex-military and has been mind-experimented upon by the government. He is also the brother of her bounty-hunting partner, recently rescued and brought aboard their ship.
She falls for him and they have some naked cuddle time. While they sleep, his government-experimented mind is triggered and he awakens with his subconscious switched to KILL mode.
She realises this and the fight ensues.
So while He should be stronger, She is VERY well trained to kill and is making a good living from being a very successful bounty hunter... who's gonna win?

Give it 2 or 3 episodes to get going.
I found the same with Game of Thrones, Band of Brothers and many other decent shows. In fact, the only recent one that has held me from the very first episode is Stranger Things.

Thanks for the info on the scene I asked. That makes sense actually. Also my issue is like I said I watch so many shows. Recently started to watch Shooter, Goliath , The Night of , Designated Survivor etc... as well :) The Night of seems excellent!

Actually it is more about a clear victor and a clear loser in a fight which would even more non martial arts. I mean at is is one sided it could simply be a single punch KO or a punch that knocks down the other girl.
Or a fight where a lesser skilled girl (preferably a villain not a requirement though) gets taken down rather easily by the better or stronger girl in a one sided manner. Basically a fight with a clear winner.
Yes I do research in the area which is not just limited to this. But this has always being of special interest. But this specific scene is just one aspect of it which I require now.
I hope you remember any episode with the specific punch or or clear winner fight. The fight can be brief.
Even a overpowering and pinning the other girl to a wall or ground. Simple show of strength. Or one hit knock down etc... I think you get the picture.

Well, there was a scene towards the end of the second season where Dutch (the female lead) knocks out a female assassin who's just been revived on her ship with a single punch. That scene's actually more comedic than anything else.
I see you've posted the same query on the Dark Matter board, so if you check out the sixth or seventh episode of the first season (it's the second part of a two-parter) the female lead gets into a good fight with another woman. It starts with a tackle and ends in a neck-snapping, so that sounds more like the kind of thing you're after.

Actually more even and bad ass the fight gets it goes away from what I am looking for.
Think more in the line of one woman clearly or easily defeated in a one sided manner.
That is though:
One punch KO. Maybe for comic effect maybe as comeuppance etc.... All are ok!
Brief fight where one girl is bad at fighting or weak hence easily and quickly loses. Ending with a knock out/knock down/ pin etc....
Or even power transfer scenes. Like where the armed girl or the tormentor gets disarmed or gets an unexpected fight back easily defeating her. A sort of comeuppance/table turning etc...
If fight is longer while I do not prefer it at least it should end with a clear winner and throughout the fight their should be evidence that one girl is better/stronger.

In spoiler tags for those still catching up...
It's at the beginning of Episode 7 ("Heart-Shaped Box"). The unconscious woman, Sabine, is a high-level assassin who's been smuggled onto the ship. Because she's involved romantically with one of the crew members, as soon as she's revived she sits up when she sees him, smiles and says "Hi," at which point Dutch leans in, waves in her face, says "Hi" in a very sweet voice, then makes a fist and knocks her out.

I've seena few things (not necessarily here) where the first and only action is a single hit that drops someone.
Is that to be considered an actual fight, or just a sucker-punch ambush that would work against anybody?

That one such scene I am looking for. The dropping or KO is what I am looking for in such a scene. It been single punch makes it clear cut but it is not a requirement.
So tell me those scenes you remember? Some might be for comic effect as well.

Well, for example, in Predator (1987) just after the squad finishes attacking the guerilla compound, Arnie (whose character is also called Dutch, incidentally) hears a pistol cocking. He spins round and slams his rifle butt into the face of his attacker and drops them to the floor in one hit.
Turns out it's a woman.
Now, I wouldn't consider that a fight at all. Not even an ambush, really. But is it that sort of hit/attack/strike you're after?
