Jean Pierre Villar/Holli Bodner

Like all the other posts I've seen so far, I'm right there with everyone who was utterly disgusted by Holli Bodner's actions, which not only caused Jean Pierre Villar's death, but resulted in barely a slap on the wrist as punishment. But wait! You know how OJ Simpson got off despite killing two people--and then karma reared its ugly little head, he was arrested for something else, and is now doing a long prison term? Guess what happened to Bodner? ī‚Š

I just found this article from 2012, http://patch.com/florida/sarasota/bradenton-psychologist-arrested-for-providing-pills-to-inmates, which includes this:

She is charged with four counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance and four counts of Introduction of a Controlled Substance into a Correctional Facility, all felonies. She was released Saturday evening after posting $4,000 bond, the Sheriff's Office said.

There are also links to articles/more info about what she did to the Villars and everything.

She seems to be a truly evil, nasty person. Like the rest of you, what she did to the Villars angered me more than any of the prior stories (at least as I recall right now).

There were a few things that didn't make sense to me during the episode, and I realize they can't show us every millisecond of what transpired in the real case, but I'm left wondering a bit. For example, when the sheriffs arrived to haul JP in for that psychiatric hold, why didn't they--at some point--say something like, "Your doctor, Dr Bodner, requested a psych hold, so we're taking you in"? If they had said that, JP would've said, "she's NOT my doctor--she's my neighbor who has made my family's life miserable for months, just call the police for verification!"

On a similar note, why didn't he just TELL THEM he had just had surgery? I think I heard him say something, but it obviously wasn't emphatic enough to make the point. I've had the police come to my door when I was recovering from [brain] surgery, and happened to be home alone at the time. I slowly got to the door--with my walker--slowly opened it, saw two police officers standing there, greeted them, then immediately said "I just had brain surgery" (in case they didn't notice my half-shaved head and huge scar! ī€¦). My point being that explaining my condition was the FIRST thing I did--and I wasn't a suspect, or a psych hold patient, or anything exciting! (They were seeking eyewitnesses to something in the neighborhood.) I'd like to believe that if JP had done a better job of conveying to the deputies that he was recovering from serious surgery they would've treated him better.

The only explanation I can come up with as to why the deputies manhandled an obviously incapacitated man, is that Holly had probably told them to expect him to be hostile and resistant to arrest. She also had been telling the police in past visits that he was always drunk or high. I wouldn't put it past her to have reported the same thing to the sheriff's office.

It's hard not to hold them responsible for JP's death, at least partially, but from their perspective, she was respected psychiatrist, and he was a convicted criminal. It's the judge who should be stripped of his position and disbarred for not even verifying the identity of the person in question (JP), let alone just "doing a favor" for a friend that could have such devastating consequences to all involved.

I'm sure she laid it on real thick...."he's going to lie and say he's injured, etc..."

I also just can't get over him saying "who signed this?" I'd been screaming "it's my psycho-neighbor she's not my doctor!" I wish some others where home, so sad.

Glad Karma is coming around for that devil. She's the one that needs psychological help...

Yes, I think you're right about that. She probably fed them false nonsense that would head off anything JP may have said--even though he was the one saying the truth. I can't stop shaking my head at how evil she was.

I know. I feel awful for him. I've had surgery more times than I can recall, and I was physically cringing when they were manhandling him like that...I could just imagine what it must have felt like, and how WRONG it was.

Agreed!

I don't think restricting her to working 15 hours a week with supervision is near enough karma for this evil cow.

I hope her @sshole falls out.

This makes perfect sense, and I really hadn't thought it out that way. Considering what a vile person Holli is, it makes sense she'd play up the false allegations...which means JP likely had no chance of being heard.

In my opinion, SOMEONE should've been held responsible for JP's death, and it really upsets me that Holli got off like she did. Twenty days (on weekends only) in jail? REALLY?! Incredible.

By the way, she was not a psychiatrist, i.e., she was not a physician; she was a therapist of some sort, perhaps a psychologist, but not a medical doctor.

Not by any stretch of the word! Haha!

I guess I assumed she was an MD because of all the prescription drugs she had around.

Also it was mistaken identity. She though he was JOHN Villar, not JEAN PIERE Villar. She reeked havoc on this family due to erroneous information. She was using her connection for personal needs, which is not ok.

Just need to vent, Iā€™m so pissed after watching this episode. The family should have sued the tar out of that woman and the county. Poor JP, he most likely would not have died had she not lied and had him taken away while recovering. And then for his family to be responsible for his subsequent medical bills!!! šŸ˜”šŸ˜”šŸ˜”
