I dug this film but...

And my digging it was mostly for the actors and the concept. But I feel like the love story was very rushed because there was a disproportionate amount of time spent on the setup versus the bonding with Tulsa. I was also a bit dissatisfied with the ending. It seems strange to me that they couldn't come up with an alternative to sending him back to mars, like say, building a habitat structure on earth that simulates the low gravity environment he was used to until they could find a suitable donor for a heart transplant. Sending him back just seemed excessive.

We don't have anti-gravity devices (yet?) so sending him back to Mars, or leaving him in orbit, was the only option really. But for me the silly thing was why the first lift in to space didn't kill him - and then they returned to Earth and did it all over again!

I'd never heard of this movie until I saw the current topics. Guess I should check it out.
