What's with all rave reviews? It's mediocre at best.

What's with all rave reviews?
Must be Irish or someone with great interest in the film/Netflix or something.

5/10

I'm Australian and give it 9 out of 10. My father was a soldier during the Vietnam era and the way these actors conducted themselves, reminded me very much of how professional soldiers were. They had an air of authenticity and discipline in their portrayal you don't normally see in films. It got me in to watch the whole film.

They were good soldiers, led by a competent commanding officer, put in a mess not of their making. It wasn't meant to be John Wayne or Rambo fiction.

You know that you are rating a MOVIE, NOT sentimemtaities, right?

I agree it's mediocre if you're comparing it to big productions like Saving Private Ryan or etc., but for a Netflix original and based on a true story, I would say it's pretty good. Nothing fancy or over-the-top but good story and decent action.

I gave this film 7/10.

Yep, the film had a horribly low budget - this showed through and through.
Yet, this story needed to be told - and I commend the filmmakers for doing so, hence the extra points.

PS. I changed the movie rating to a 4 out of 10.
I now have a good reason to believe that the story told here is full of bull.
I posted more on this in another thread. The more I apply critical thinking, the less plausible this story appears, whereas the contradictory version seems more likely.

I can't speak for anyone else but the scene of Quinlan and his first sergeant walking toward their jeep took the movie from a 7 to a 10. Two physically fit and extremely handsome men in fatigues overcomes a lot of budget issues. Flat stomachs, good posture, tight buttocks and low slung belts. Need I say more?

Don't tell me you love animals if that's cow muscle on your plate.
