What was the tank used as the prop?

Hey, we have all got used to The Asylum and their work. I enjoyed it for what it gave. A great effort, and it is at least a "B" Movie. But I have one question. The tank used. What was it? The Ardennes battle would have had Sherman tanks, and maybe the Chaffee from the Americans. The tank used here is neither, Any idea the vintage and model?

reply

Looks like a Russian T34...they had the turret mounted very close to the front of the tank. No other WWII tank was set up that way (as far as I know).

reply

The American Tank is an M36 Jackson Tank Destroyer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M36_tank_destroyer). The German tank is, unfortunately due to budget and availability, a T34 Russian tank standing in for German tanks (ala Patton tanks standing in for German tanks in the movie Patton).

reply

Thank you. As another poster had suggested as it being a T-34, I knew better. The Russian T-34 is my favourite WWII armoured battled tank and arguably the best tank used on any front. I never thought of looking at the M36 Jackson.

reply

The Germans did use captured T-34s during WW2. But Not on the western front.

reply

... and certainly not without marking the turret with large German crosses!

tanks maybe not authentic but i did notice m1 carbines and m1 rifles...agree the acting was bad but in spite of that, no private in anyone's army flagrantly disobeyed orders or questioned superiors without getting shot or reprimanded on the spot...figmo and fubar were terms probably reserved for later in the war
