I am a Cree Native American and I was very excited to hear about any show involving my tribe and homeland. However then I started watching and I wondering where are the true Cree actors in this show? Most I've seen is a Chinese actress... kinda disappointing
shareI'm not sure which Chinese actress you're referring to. There is a Chinese actor in it, Terry Chen (Ling). As far as actors who are Aboriginal Canadians, according to Wikipedia, the following actors are Métis (through episode 6, as far as I've reached on Netflix):
Cara Gee (Kat Loving): Ojibwe descent
Tahmoh Penikett (Marshall Caleb Mecredi, ep. 3, 4, 6): White River First Nation descent
Roseanne Supernault (Nuttah, ep. 4): Cree descent
Gerald Auger (Chogan, ep.4): Woodland Cree descent
Simon R. Baker (Wematin, ep. 4): Cree, Haida and Squamish descent
Tantoo Cardinal (Pinchette, ep. 5): Cree descent
As far as I can tell, at least so far, they've had Aboriginal Canadians play Aboriginal Canadian characters. I may have missed someone, however, and if so, please let me know.
