I had the misfortune of sitting through this mess.. Amber Rose is way in over her head.. She can not act !!! it's hard to watch her scenes at times without wincing and feeling a little embarrassed for her... She should stick to doing rappers..

shareAgreed Romey there are some strong performances in many of the "black films" that have been produced the past decade... Some of the most revered actors of our time are indeed black and black film has truly come a long way the past 25 years... I personally was not in agreement with that portion of the OP's comment however if you do eventually catch this film there is no denying just how bad Miss Rose is as a actress... It's very bad...
shareOh I've seen it, and yeah she wasn't good, but that's to be expected. It's not the kind of movie that would require great acting or have a script that would even foster it however. A strong black actress in that part would still have appeared very pedestrian. That's not to say she would be a better actress with better material, but everyone has their roles to play. Not everyone can be Viola Davis, and not every movie can be 12 Years A Slave. There are cookie cutter, clean as a whistle actresses working in Hollywood whose skills aren't any better honestly. The stripper/groupie past isn't the determining factor..
shareOmg please give me a list of these "so-called" productions. Black films have been lousy for decades, starting with blaxplotation films, just like contemporary black literature. These films are filled with nothing but common tropes of black women woth attitudes, hood struggles, absent no good black men, thugs and convicts, and hoochie mamas giving up the cooch.
You can almost always count on bad acting in these films, just like you can count on cliche story lines in all white teen movies.
I thought Tyler Perry was still to blame.
