Dazzle Novak = Ryo Saeba Clone?

There's probably not many people here who (still) know the 80's anime series "City Hunter", but I was/am quite a fan and couldn't help but notice that Dazzle Novak seems to be very heavily based on City Hunter's Ryo Saeba.

A bit maybe -- certainly looks-wise.

Saeba may be an idiot but when he needs to get serious he can get serious, and he's an impossibly good shot. Dazzle on the other hand seems to be useless all the time and only solves crimes through with the help of other people (straight character Chrysalis) or by accident.

I think it would be more likely that the show pays visual homages to Miami Vice with the character of Sonny Crocket more than anything.

Dazzle's look is also reminiscent of Rob Lowe's own looks in the 80's. Very much so.

Wish people wouldn't compare it to Archer. There is room for more than 1 animated satire on TV. Other than being animated, they're very different and both are funny.
