Excellent movie

Just watched it and I was floored. The interviews are excellent. I feel like it was the first chance people who were affected in the community were able to give their story. Particularly haunting and heart breaking were the interviews with the women at the end. I'm glad they were able to tell their story.
I think this time it worked that Nick was part of the movie. It added some extra warmth to the story and gave, dare I say, some light heartedness to an otherwise dark, sad story. His friendship with Pam. How he was able to get close to the men who called him "peckerwood" at the start. The scene just before the final interviews when Pam is waiting outside the office with some of the survivors. When they turn and smile it feels warm and genuine because they know Nick. It gave the documentary a people are people vibe, regardless of race or background.
It was very well told and shot.
The only thing that bothered me was the annoying Massive Effect track with the deep breathing that they kept playing. That was a bit too over the top and felt out of place.

I agree, very well told! & if you live/ed in LA not shocking, unfortunately
LAPD is pretty pathetic. Had they been human, OJ would've never walked, because
ppl would have had no beef w/them. Officers are supposed to build relationships
w/the public they serve. Epic Fail on their part.
The most repugnant part of that film was the term NHI= No Humans Involved used by LAPD & their cohorts.
Pretty much says it all.
