The narrator keeps saying the detective's name wrong. It's not Lillyfield. It's Lillienfeld.
I know it LOOKS that way, but he may not have been mispronouncing it at all. I say that because of something I learned many ages ago: names are basically exempt from the usual rules of pronunciation. In other words, if someone names their child Xgnqhsiep but says it's pronounced "Sally," Sally it is! So in the case of Lillienfeld, it's possible that his family's way of saying it ignores the "n" and makes the last "e" long.
I know what you mean. Some people with that name probably do pronounce it that way. Not this guy though. People pronounce my last name a lot because of a more common spelling/pronunciation. Although neither name is super common.
