One of Two Things to happen with Tony after 24 - Solitary:

24 Solitary is likely just a set up for Day 10, in which Tony will either:

1) Redeem the things he did after Day 5, being secretly recruited by Christopher Henderson, then working for Emerson's crew (doing many 'bad things') leading up to Day 7 and the killing of FBI Special Agent in Charge Larry Moss, taking a shower beside a corpse, and the deaths of other innocents in the name of Michelle and his unborn son. (both would condemn his actions to get to Alan Wilson) The redemption storyline would be the most popular I think, but 24 is 24 and it's unlikely writers would give us a predictable redemption story for Tony.

2) Tony continues down the path of darkness, working for the bad guys, killing innocents, and blaming Jack for all his problems--after all it was Jack's family, most notably Graem Bauer that hired the hitmen that killed off Michelle Dessler and his unborn son, just to get Jack out in the open. No matter what Jack says to Tony, he is wrong and Tony continues to descend into most hated villain on 24. Tony will eventually work with one of the first evils to grace 24's cameras, and one that even threatened his own life a decade earlier, and the one who has escaped Jack's justice: Mandy.

I think the fans want the redemption story for Tony, hes one of the most loved characters, either the writers will listen to fans or continue to be stupid and ruin it, like I think they ruined s8 personally.

I agree, would lost my faith in 24 writers, Im hating Jack in s8 already, not seen LAD yet but will do soon enough I just finished s8 ep 20. So can see the possibly of writers messing it up again. I fear that we will no longer see classic 24 unless they bring in new writers with fresh ideas & a visual of what the fans want. Let Jack have his happy ending then thats Jack story finished, now follow Tony as CTU director in NY or Miami. I have this terrible feeling, seeing that writers kill off major characters, Chloe might be next if there ll be LAD 2!

i didn't look to see if they and new writers on S9, but the season was pretty good, on the whole, as compared to S8. Maybe the 4 year break did them some good?

A break can also be a bad thing, as old storyline plots and character events can be forgotten about. I like it if a show has a consistent run without too many breaks in between.

Next up for 24 is Solitary, then the movie or a new 12 episode season, I think we'll get some news soon. Day 9 was successful and people are crying for more 24.

Tony's comeback will definitely help with that, lets hope Solitary treats him well. xD

I always liked Tony an d was sorry to see him turned evil. It didn't work for me, it was unbelievable, it ruined the character. I would never have done that.

DUDE! I haven't been able to find confirmation but a friend heard on a radio interview that FX has picked up a pilot called "Retaliation" and it's supposed to be about Tony Almeida's character from "24" and the show picks up right before the events of "24: Live Another Day".

I found a website that gives very little information but from what I have read and heard the show will be on FX and Netflix! Cool !!!!!!!!!!! Cannot wait!! Oh if you want to see the site I mentioned it is http://fx-retaliation.co.nr
