All the crazy Australian Politicians said they are going to Ban this

All the crazy Australian Politicians said they
are going to Ban this Documentary !!! read your News

reply

It's you who needs to read the news. Nobody said they were going to ban the film.

One public school was going to take time out of class time to watch it, force all children to attend and wear purple in support of gay marriage. After many complaints from parents, the government rightly said that it is not the place of a public school to push a political agenda on to students, and told them that if they wanted to screen it, it would have to be outside of class time, and completely voluntary.

reply

Nope. They never said this and there will be no ban. Don't be ridiculous.

reply

The "crazy" politicians ARE trying to ban it, at least make it difficult for young people to see it.
Complaints from parents? NONE! concerns re the way it was planned YES! that was addressed.
The story on the front page of the Daily Telegraph was nothing more than sensationalism and NOT based on facts. The carry on by the christian lobby groups? predictably all noise and no substance.
Victorian politicians have allowed schools to show the doco as they choose, NSW can only show the doco after curriculum hours. No news yet from other states.
This artificial furor has simply guaranteed more people will want to see it.

reply

^ No. It won't guarantee more people will want to see it.

Most people do not fit into this tiny category of people who are constantly shouting about their personal issues.

No one but the upper-middle-class bleeding-hearts care at all.

reply

The attendance figures suggest otherwise!

reply

Yea, but surely the OP is correct in that some of the conservative members of the government wanted to ban it. I mean, Australia doesn't have Gay Marriage.. and as recently as 2013 the people in power only re-confirmed this belief. So it is logical that people would not want this movie seen. Just as it is logical many members of parliament have no problem with it being seen.
