So we went 1 1/2 movies thinking . . .

. . . mohawk guy was a dickbag, then we smear on the sap in the last 5 minutes about how great a father he was? (retroactive spoiler alert)

I liked the movie, but it's like they ran out of time to tell the story they wanted to tell.

reply

True. But he was mildly likeable.

It was a big 180 to me. Yondu was an evil jerk through out all of the first and then they turn him good just because his men all get killed.

reply

It was a little disjointed. It's like they sorta ran out of time to flesh out that storyline.

reply

Made no sense to me either. Absolutely no idea how they expected anyone to just accept it. Yet people did. I don't understand it.

ITS MICHAEL ROOKER...DUDE IS LOVABLE...PLUS...HE KEPT QUILL FROM BEING KILLED IN THE FIRST MOVIE AND WASNT INSANELY MAD ABOUT BEING FUCKED AT THE END...I LOVE WHERE THE SECOND MOVIE GOES...ONE OFMY FAVORITE SEQUENCE OF EVENTS IN A MARVEL FLICK.

reply

Well , they did it in T2

Im sure its not the first time that either
a) the star said "im not coming back unless im a good guy"
b) they thought "audiencies loved that guy , we should promote him to good guy"

Didnt Barbossa in Pirates otC do the same?

reply

I liked it. Maybe because I have seen that in real life. Tough guys placed in a situation where they have to watch over a child, doing the best they can. They are trying but their rough nature limits them.

reply

Are people forgetting that the first movie had him and his men helping the GOTG fight against Ronan? He was a pirate but he was far from evil. And considering the GOTG were all thieves, assassins and bounty hunters, he was not that far removed from them.

reply

Really good point, and one that escaped me.

reply

bingo

reply

Solved, let’s move on from here.
