is Ego supposed to look like Kurt Russell?

Ego says he chose that form to best please Peter saying he could've chosen any form (like Hasselhoff) so did Ego chose the actor Kurt Russell star of the John Carpenter movies of the 80s? is Kurt Russell a thing in this universe? I'm guessing not as Peters mom would be then going out with 1980s Kurt Russell. (but then in Winter Soldier Steve has that book of stuff to check out and he's written Rocky in it - which means Stallone is a thing and one of his movies was Tango & Cash with Kurt Russell... and talking of Stallone does Quill know Youndus ex buddy looks like Rocky) and then theres Sam L Jackson in SW

also for other MCU movie stars RDJ, RRedford, MDouglas, AHopkins etc I suppose those actors don't exist in the MCU (unless those characters just happen to strongly resemble them?)

I would say no because if he was taking the form of actor Kurt Russell in the MCU continuity, Quill definitely would've referenced it. I just feel Ego created the form of a rugged looking man that looks like he could be Peter's father.

I dont think the resemblance was deliberate. Wasnt Russell fairly young when Quill left Earth, not a dad-ish kind of figure?

I think Ego was trying to look sort of like David Hasselhoff, and sort of like an older version of Quill. Which resulted in someone looking like Kurt Russell

That's essentially what I'm saying. I don't think it's deliberate at all since Peter didn't say anything about the resemblance.
