I actually found him kind of a fascinating character, as if the director wanted us to think about him. Scenes of his thinking and worrying, and then right after he cusses tarot cards, he finds a smudging stick - used in wiccan magic and various Native American magics, and starts smudging the house!!! What the hell? Is he against magic or not. Does he believe in ghosts or not? I found myself wondering about him a lot. Weird.
shareI felt that way too and it didn’t add to the movie. It makes him a confusing character with no real motivation.
