From the moment we meet the young son and see the actor mouthing his sisters lines back to her in the car in their first scene, I knew this was going to be bad....it did not disappoint in that regard
shareEveryone was bad - not just the kids. The dad was beyond obnoxious and hilariously irate. The older daughter was a ciche, and the kids were so OTT when trying to be mesmerized/creepy... what an awful movie.
shareYep typical haunted house movie with nothing to add from the god knows how many other haunted house movies out there so they could of at least got the kids to deliver their lines decently instead of sounding like it was their 1st time learning to read from a book. I mean there were scenes where they deliver and it sounds fine then you get to the next scene and they are meant to be annoyed at their dad while watching a movie and he tells them they have to watch it later and you get that terrible bad line delivery of no emotion, pause after each word dead pan delivery like i said, as if they are reading from a book for the 1st time but are absolutely emotionless while doing so then it skips to the next scene and they sound fine, well they sound human at least instead of like a robot.
I can't stand when you get kids in movies that deliver like that, i am sure It's some friend of the producers who want their kids to be their income to leech off of the rest of their life because there are kids out there that age and younger who can actually act and they are seen in TV shows that are nothing special so it's not like I'm talking high profile that would cost millions but we get these poor performance kids instead.
The father and eldest daughter may have been cliche but at least it wasn't that dead pan emotionless line delivery. The director should have done however many takes for the younger 2 to have them at their best throughout the movie instead of every 2nd scene and so on.

shareEh, even adult actors who weren't new to the biz lip read the other actor's lines back. Try watching The Empire Strikes Back again and watch for when Harrison Ford mouths Carrie Fisher's lines.
