The thing was though ordinarily we would have thought they found a nice place to live. However, we know he couldn't stand anything made by humans whatsoever. Maybe living in a man made dwelling gave him the anxiety that plagued him. Having anything to do with Americans and knowing what he was once forced to do for them, any of them, by the government and the way government, authorities and corporations treat people in America even if she thought they found people like themselves. He just could not stand any of it. That's my understanding of it.
