People born since the 1970s really don't know what Nixon was about.

Basically he has been scrubbed clean by the corporatist media.

I don't know if he's been "scrubbed clean", exactly, and anyone who didn't know what Nixon was about and then sees this will certainly have their eyes opened. This isn't some expose about things that were said by a low-level politician; this was the President of the United States making hateful, anti-everyone comments and showing what a paranoid, even sadistic leader he was. I think people born since the 1970's know what Nixon was about as far as being the only president in US history to resign. They've heard about "Watergate" and the plumbers and Vietnam-- not to the detail those old enough to remember these events as they occurred, but still knowing more about the entire scandal than just learning about it in US History classes. I was born in 1971 so wasn't yet cognizant enough about life to know what was happening, but certainly remember hearing the words and names Watergate and JP Getty and CREEP by the end of the 70's, when the scandal of Watergate was still fresh in people's minds.

What a dumb as dirt comment. Poster is confusing the objective eye of history as "corporate scrubbing." As long as there are documentaries such as this by the remnants of the Nixon hating baby boomers, the truth will be obsfucated, until these @$$0les die off, and then are laughed at by history.

Not really. Everybody in this day and age knows that all you need to have a complete and thorough understanding of an individual is to hand pick 70 minutes out of a presidency which lasted almost 3,000,000 minutes.

It is done all the time. I remember back with Reagan everyone wondered how his legacy would be impacted by the reality of his presidency, especially the last few years and the Hollywood version was born, where people now believe it. If you tell the same story over and over again, it sticks.

As to Nixon however and all this revisionist history about him, it all comes straight to its knees when you hear the tapes and how he talks and thinks. Then, no matter the revisionism, it doesn't stick because his voice and words are much more compelling.
