So much wasted potential

There is a good--maybe great--movie hidden away in here somewhere. But many of the directorial choices were baffling: weird music, strange angles, and that idiotic ending.

I wasn't looking for a Hollywood sports movie. I really liked the slow burn. But there were some great performances here that went totally to waste.

Me and many others, apparently. I gave it a 7 for all the parts I enjoyed, but it's currently at a 5.4, probably because of all the nonsense I mentioned above.

If the film had been closer to the trailer this could have been a contender.

If they were gonna get some no name actor to play the part of this star pitcher who throws almost 100, the least they coulda done was find someone who doesn't throw like Kenny Powers.

The rating here means basically nothing at all. So many of the voters here are kids(And many with multiple accounts), and tons of people here also rate things they haven't even seen. The critics for the most part liked this film. I thought it was good. Refreshingly far more honest and intelligent than your average film. Nothing here was a waste in my view. This was a solid and interesting film. The ending was sudden for sure, but upon reflection, I think it works pretty well. I'm glad it wasn't another overly typical and ridiculously heroic movie ending. The music and camera shots I felt were fairly effective as well.

That is just what people who take their own personal opinion too seriously like to tell themselves, face it it was a bad movie and the majority of those that saw it have rated it as such, accept it and move on, maybe you just like bad movies.

Haha, you're probably one of those kids judging by your reply.

Sounds much more like you think your opinion is greater than others. The vast "majority" of professional film critics liked this film,(and for good reason.) Perhaps that's something you should accept. What is popular at a certain time does not mean that it's good. Don't forget to go to school kid.

I didnt like Ethan Hawke as the dad. Just didnt seem believable as a overbearing father. Other than that, I agree with your review

agree. the whole movie looked more like a rough cut
