HOLY COW: GYLLENHAAL + MASLANY

Hoping this combo will be as epic as I imagine it will be. Maslany is incredible in Orphan Black, and Gyllenhaal... well, he's currently one of the best actors available (Prisoners, Nightcrawler, Enemy etc).

I don't really care about the story though. My only reason for watching this would be to see these two. It better not be disappointing.

yes epic pairing.

How can you not care about the story!?

Well, it kind of suffers from a lack of suspense. The hunt for the marathon bombers was (a) well-covered in the media and (b) not very long (basically five days), so we're going to be very familiar with the main story and there's not much opportunity to interesting side plots.

Wormhole- what? Hahaha You think it will be boring because it's a true story so the spoilers are already out there? So no movies are worth making about recent true events? Also, this is about that true story from the POV of one person. You don't think there are things to be learned from that that weren't covered in the media?
Also, movies have been made about events that took far less than 5 days to occur. Are you 12?? Seriously.

I don't know what idiot casting director thought of that pairing. Gyllenhaal's perma-puppy look is going to make him literally invisible next to the Maslany Powerhouse.

that's exactly the main strength of this casting choice. you don't need 2 powerhouses, but 2 totally different yet great actors in general who complement each other.

The real life Bauman has a puppyish look. I wonder if the other candidates were the Bostonians like Casey Affleck, Ben Forster.
Maslany resembles Erin even less, though they passed chemistry test.
(of course, JG is actually a producer too, ouch.)
It's a fairly physical role he won after Southpaw's against-type performance wowed some folks.
They even make a sort of companion pieces : life after losing/gaining a wife.
