Not too beautiful, but Twisted is too kind

Maybe this would have worked better as a miniseries?

Maybe twisted is too tame a word. She's a freaking bat in the attic.
It started out promising, almost with a fun-twisted hint of Casino. feel to it.

Campy and goofy, lively. Which made some of the scenes so much more shocking. I fast forwarded through the graphic bloody bits. His mother's murder was disgusting. I hadn't heard of the story before so didn't expect that. But the horror kept piling up and then, wow, wanting her own daughter done away with. Sick, twisted psycho nutter. I just don't get putting "beautiful" in the title. She was horrid. Skanky inside and out. He seemed to invite it.

But the actress, Paz Vega, was terrific. So was Lowe. And Bergen did a fine, fun job at it.

Guess I just wish it were more involved, longer, and had delved into why she was so messed up. Years ago it seems that a docudrama like this would have been given the 4-hour treatment.
