I'll Hit The Silver

In the scene when he takes Narci to his mom's house, the mom goes to take the daughter on a tour and Narci says in Spanish (so she won't be understood even though it turns out the mom speaks spanish) "You keep the old lady busy. I'll hit the silver."

What in the world does "Hit the Silver" mean? Just tried googling it and found nothing.

She's referring to the silverware, knives, forks, spoons, etc.

reply

She was going to steal the silverware

Hahaha. Ghetto.

And weird that a Google search doesn't bring up that phrase. I guess there's some stuff that's not on the internet.

I think it's a little funny this person doesn't know what that meant....lol

Actually it is a common term "hit" as in take or rob. I think the sentence was just odd. If you heard the word in another sentence, it would have seemed obvious.
An example (not to do with this show), and a more common usage of the word would be something like: "They cased the store, to map the schedule of the owner, so they would know when it was best to hit it." There, the word "hit" is used in a way that makes you understand it better.

Lmao, for a split second before replaying the scene, I thought she was referring to Tequila.
Maybe that was just my need for a drink in order to get through this movie.

The silver in that Spanish phrase means " la plata", the Money.
The idea is you (the daughter) entertain the old lady that I take care of the "plata" the heir.
Sorry for same mistake made, English is not my native language, and Spanish is not too.
I'm portuguese.
