Worst and unintentionally funniest scene

Easily Black Manta, who had done very little all movie, trying to tell Aquaman why he was the mastermind behind Orm, awkwardly saying "frankly, he irks the sheet out of me" (the swearing felt sooo out of place given how simplistic the movie was), then being eaten by a shark that defied the laws of physics.

Seriously, how did that shark manage to leap straight in the air and scoop up Black Manta without hurling itself out of the water? That was so poorly executed.

Yea that whole scene could have easily been cut and made no difference at all to the movie. Felt the cursing was out Of place too. Didn't really mind it but felt awkward. And yea he did next to nothing all movie then tries to come out as the real bad guy to just get killed right away. It felt pretty pointless.

reply

it remind of the Samuel L. Jackson shark-scene from Deep Blue Sea

Thanks. I didn't know what I'd been thinking of. Watched that scene twice.

So much comedy moments where I wonder how intentional it was. Like Orm. He went full *beep* as soon as he was on the land. He's my favourite thing in the movie. All his plans just evaporate. Manta too had been another supposed badass planner. They just completely lost it. Got eaten by a shark.

Clever people will recognize and tolerate nothing but cleverness.

It appears to a reference to a scene from the comic, Aquaman summoning a bunch of huge sharks to take down some parademons. The shark that took out Manta in the movie looks almost exactly like that scene.

reply

How the hell are you reading that as being unintentional? It's unambiguously set up and executed as a joke.

I'd say the most unintentionally funny scene is when the tidal wave is approaching Metropolis, and as far as we know the troops think it's just a tidal wave. And so they approach this threat...with guns?

reply

Yes. And what's worse, Orm has a fvcking tidal wave at his command, but he stops the water before it hits and proceeds with... soldiers.

reply

It's a Megalodon methinks.

reply

I liked that part.
