First DC animated to be basically garbage...

The heroes are jerkoffs and nothing feels right. A struggle to finish.

I HATE, HATE, HATE hearing Captain Marvel referred to as SHAZAM. *beep* garbage.

You Suck...now deal with it.

reply

Nah. Son of Batman was still worse.

reply

Agreed.

I think JL:War was even worse. At least SOB had a story. War was just nonstop action without a semblance of a plot.

Generic Alien Invasion Plot VS Generic Kungfu Revenge Story
Execution is where it counts.
SOB is rightfully rated < JL: War on this site.
The character dynamics were far more interesting and whatever jokes either movie attempted worked far better to War's favor, especially when certain scenes or moments can be seen as meta DC in-jokes.
JL War also had a greater variety of fights, accentuating the strengths whilst acknowledging the weaknesses of each character showcased.

Honestly, War gave me a headache. something which has never happened in any animated movie before. Its also so incredibly lazy. I mean we don't even get to see how exactly Batman cured Superman. One scene we see a possessed Superman attacking Batman, and the next time we see both, they are both fine and emerge to attack Darkseid. To me, that movie was just a noisy mess. SOB at least had some quieter interludes. No as head ache inducing for me.

reply

In the comic it was Superman's will that saved him. Batman just happened to help remind him of that.

If they copied the comic frame by frame the movie would be way too long.

reply

I think I'm glad the movie cut away from Batman already trying to do that, considering how tacky that sounds.

reply

No no, Justice League: War was the worst.

reply

you sound really dumb. First of all, Captain Marvel is a Marvel character, hence the name. WOW!

reply

Captain Marvel was published by Fawcett Comics in 1939. They were sued by DC over the character being a rip-off of Superman, and stopped publishing the character in the early 1950s.

Marvel Comics released their Captain Marvel as soon as the trademark lapsed due to non-publication. The character was never popular, and still isn't, yet is still published to maintain the trademark. DC eventually bought up the defunct Fawcett Comics characters, and re-released the original, and enduringly popular Captain Marvel under the comic book title Shazam (who was actually a completely different character in the same universe previously).

It's only recently that they've renamed the character, presumably because they think having the books title be different from the starring character is too confusing.

reply

And the confusing issue of 2 Captain Marvels being from different comics. It is hard for new readers to understand which Captain Marvel is which. So DC took the high road and renamed their character SHAZAM! (since they were already having problems using the name anyways hence their books being called SHAZAM!).

No Number is best. 3 builds better than 2. 2 loves better than 1 and 1 mind is better than 3.

reply

i thought it was alright. i enjoyed it.

The name change to Shazam is NOTHING to do with the movies, but because Marvel Comics owns the right to the Captain Marvel name. Also, he was called that in the previous movie too...a movie which was far more garbage than this could ever be.

A more accurate description of "Justice League: War" than this. This one's not perfect but it's leaps & bounds better than the puerile garbage that was "War".
