Baptiste should have own series

Baptiste character was lovely, so gentle and quietly spoken; well worthy of his own series; Baptiste (aka Wallander) now a private detective or consultant specializing in missing person cases.

reply

Well, he has if you think about it. He's been pretty much the lynchpin in both series of The Missing. I can't imagine another series without him (although he might be too old and too frail now).

If there aren't any skeletons in a man's closet, there's probably a Bertha in his attic.

reply

this is his series allready.

he is the only mainstay character - as it should be.

this is his own show...

Exactly. He is the only character that has carried over the two series, and he is central to the story. Short of actually calling the series "Baptiste", what else could be done to make it his?

Never lie to the dog.

dunno if it was the idea on the start of season 1 but that´s what it became =)
now all we need to know if there´s a S3.... or a Movie!

I shall not be accountable for my actions unless Julien mother-flipping Baptiste (as one reviewer Louisa Mellor calls him!) does not make a cross-over appearance in the next series of "Engrenages."

Tapping my foot now...waiting....

Hey! Laure!

Julien.
mother-flipping.
Baptiste!!!

Got it?

reply

If there is, I hope it's not about a pedophile.

reply

Yes, no more paedophile searches for Baptiste, we hope.

Missing children, though? Fair enough. That's his metier.

Given children go missing for all kinds of reasons, many not related to sexual exploitation, there is a lot of scope for his own series. OR, for his appearance on..."Engrenages."

I'd so love to see an encounter between Laure and Baptiste having a disagreement over procedure. Ha.

reply

What's Engrenages?

Great series

Ah. Sorry. AKA "Spiral" in the English transmission version.

The iconic French cop series. Le Flics extraordinaire!

The only series these days that doesn't give a darn who they offend and how often. haha

If you want PC policing and PC box ticking casting and storyline made to order to modern standards, don't tune in to Laure, Tin-Tin and bad boy Gilou! :-)))

A spectacular French cast with characters Monsieur "Juge" Roban as the conscience of the show, and Audrey Fleurot and Gregori Fetoussi as the brilliant lawyer contingent.

Next to "Jewel in the Crown" and the newer epic "Un Village Francais" it's my third favorite series of all time. Due to the way it's made and that it doesn't pull punches or go all PC on you.
