I am willing to bet

That the network paid these two couples to stay married for six months because this season was a disaster for the most part. Anyone with me?

reply

I thought about that when Sonia and Nick stayed together. I mean she did not move back in until one day before the decision was to be made and she had previously said that sometimes she can't stand his face.

reply

Yes,it makes absolutely no sense. I didn't watch too much of the lunch meeting with the two couples but from what I saw, Nick's body language is as if he's being tortured.

reply

It really makes me sad to think that she may have been in it for the money the whole time too. Any self-respecting woman (especially a SOCIAL WORKER where many of your core courses are in recognizing abnormal behavior/psychology... such as Nick's!) would have walked away in that situation. He barely even makes an effort to smile at her, let alone give eye contact.

I'm still holding out hope that she'll dump his ass once that FYI check finally arrives in the mail!

Aren't they all doing this for the $$?! I mean who would really do this "experiment" for any other reason other than money or fame or some kind of alterior motive?

And yes!! Please Sonia, dump that sorry lump of coal!!

reply

If people are going on this show for money, then they are stupid. The show doesn't apparently pay well. And what does air on tv could harm a person's future employment opportunities.
Jamie recently claimed that she and Doug were nearly broke and about to move in with his parents. They have been in the position to make the most money through being on the show, being on the "First Year" series, Jamie's interviews, and now the new "Married Life" series.

reply

Shes 35k in debt. You bet shes in it for the $

reply

She is driving a Lexus as a social worker. She is apparently not good with money.

reply

Yup. Which further illustrates that shes not as humble as she portrays herself. Someone who doesnt care about money would be ok with a Hyundai since its within her means.

reply

Maybe she just doesn't want Alec Baldwin yelling a her.

reply

So what's a social worker suppose to drive...

reply

Who knows but at 43k annual salary no matter what profession, thrre is no way you can afford a 50k car and still be able to make rent/mortgage in south florida (i know because i am from here), and additional living expenses. Seems she'd rather flash around a lexus and be 35k in the hole. Thats ridiculous

reply

But is that really her car? Or does she drive a beater in real life and the producers didn't want a beater car on the show. Something is wrong with this situation. Either she has the Lexus because she went deep into debt for it or got it as a gift. Or it is not her car.

reply

Could be any of those scenarios really. This show is so producer-driven.

reply

sunsoullove...why are you assuming she's buying a Lexus. A 36 month lease on a new Lexus with a couple thousand down could easily be under $400/month.

reply

omg because the car one drives is corelated to one's income in most cases unless you want to live above your means and in debt for the sake of appearances. $400 a month is the minimum you will pay a month for a Lexus and thats if you have excellent credit. She does not. So $500 a month or more. Factor in insurance, youre looking at about $700+. Rent and Mortgage down here is ridiculous. 43k annual income and a Lexus dont compute. Are you Sonia's relative or somthing? Stop nitpicking all my posts and opinions, move on.

reply

You've confused me. I understand that Sonja is the social worker but Jamie is a RN...working (I thought) in the ER. That's pretty decent money. Well, you do have to show up to work if you expect to be paid for it...maybe she lost her seniority working on this show, or went down to part time. So which one is driving the Lexus?

reply

Agree! I actually thought that way back when Sonia decided to stay in "the experiment" after Nick yelled he wasn't attracted to her. I would have booted it then.

Joey F. Jeremiah, that's F for pharmacy.

reply

Could be. I'm willing to entertain that thought, as paying them is cheaper than starting a whole new production. They do need to revamp or fine tune this show if they plan to keep it going. Watching the same scenes over and over gets on my nerves. I had to DVR it and use FF. Hopefully they'll give us a better season next year Crokitty. One can hope or we can divorce ourselves from watching lol.

reply

Omg Heather & detel divorcing off the bat was a disaster. They dragged that out for about 3 episodes then continued to film for no reason. Smh.

reply

Yes, Heather and Derek's scenes were over dramatisized, painful to watch, and I even thought he (at times) would have been willing to give it another go...she just shut that idea down. This show is heavily edited to tell the producers story. It's not necessarily the real story of what is happening with the couples. Have you seen the season with Jamie and Doug....Jason and Courtney? It seems more honest and real and they show runners let it be what it was.

reply

I think Jamie and Doug....Courtney and Jason are Season One
