What are the MOST fake parts of this fake show?

To me, it's the "secret" big decision.

So you're about to go meet with the producers, matchmakers and tv crew tomorrow and tell them your decision. Is the audience really supposed to believe that the couples didn't tell each other the night before? Or even weeks in advance??

As if Lillian didn't ask Tom 500 times in advance what his decision was gonna be. Funny how the camera never caught any of that.

If it wasn't fake would you still watch it?

A lot of the activities or dates are clearly fake. If the couples were not being filmed, I don't think many would bother to complete the various assignments given by the experts. The gift giving seemed a bit fake. And decision day does seem overly staged. I have a hard time believing that Nick would have said he wanted to continue if he didn't know that Sonia would say the same thing. Granted some past cast members have claimed they didn't know. I think Cortney from season 1 said she was not sure what Jason would say on decision day. But the show and matching process have changed a lot from season 1.

And things that really should be shown, didn't make the final edit. Sonia said she spoke with Rachel a lot following the decision to move out after Nick hurt her. It would have been interesting to at least see part of that to get an idea about the thought process Sonia had in choosing to move back in and deciding to stay with Nick. Without that she just looks like a pushover. But if we heard her talking about what she thought were the positives of the relationship, it would give a lot more insight into her decision.

I agree witchaphrodite it would have been nice to see what all Nick said to her when he apologized. My guess is that he did it more than once. It also would have been nice to see the full blow up that Nick had, I felt that they left some parts of it out like what the producers were saying to him.

I read something from Sonia where she said they discussed it the night before so they would be on the same page at the studio. Obviously they agreed to stay together and neither really looked very concerned about the outcome so I believe it's true.

I think that process should be more controlled. Maybe, they should be bound by contract to not discuss with one another what their decision will be. Also, either person could decide to flip script based on the other's decision while they sit there. So to combat that, they should write their decisions down in private on paper and give them to the "experts." That way, answers will be more honest and not influenced by anything else.

Hubby and I started watching the first season of this show a few days ago. I've already seen it but he hasn't. Looking back, it was a much more natural process and it still remains the best season.

Yes, it is starting to get more contrived...formulary. I think they need a new director who would be willing to show what is really happening vs the story they want to show happen.

Or have them film their decision on whether to stay together privately and then have it shown to their spouse on decision day.
