What's your favorite comfort food? (Tie in shown below)

Someone made a post about a cast member gaining 15 lbs since filming and it got me to thinking about the foods we eat when we're are unhappy, depressed or sad. So what is you favorite?

reply

Everyone doesn't use food for comfort when they are sad, unhappy, or depressed. Many people lose their appetite and don't eat. Of course both are unhealthy. Unfortunately a lot of people make assumptions about why people gain or lose weight.

reply

I wasn't putting the post out there as a psychological experiment. I just thought it would be fun. Would you have liked it better if I said your favorite:
1) fast food
2) quick kitchen fix
3) guilty pleasure
4) yada yada yada

Pardon my poor attempt at lightening things up and trying to find something happy for us all to chat about rather than putting ppl down.

Bacon. The answer is bacon.

reply

Agree. Everything is better with bacon and everyone loves bacon. I say even pigs love bacon.

And mac n' cheese.

And mac n'cheese with bacon.

reply

YUM!! Always buy Reece's when they're on sale...not to stock up...to eat!! Alas, candy is dear right now but there'll be a sale after Halloween!! Hooray!! My personal favorite is the Cadbury Fruit and Nut bars BUT they have to be from the U.K. The ones in America don't taste as good. Not as creamy or rich. Hugs and well wishes.

Interestingly, I am acquainted with Andy Reese, the grandson of Harry Burnett Reese who invented Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. As part of his family's deal when they sold the rights to Hershey was that the family gets a bunch of Reese's cups for free. Last time I saw him he had cases of them in a room.

reply

Is he married? I love Reese's PB cups!

reply

Lol...that house is probably the hit of the neighborhood when it comes to Halloween!! I'm short...I'd put a mask on and go trick or treating there! Just kidding (about doing it...not about being short!).

reply

McDonalds if I'm out and about. At home pasta, chips n dip, cookie dough (don't judge lol), lobster bites (these little hors d'oeuvres like things that you get frozen like mozzarella sticks) and ice cream (usually cookie n cream). I like food but I try not to indulge in these things too often lol.

reply

This question actually makes me sad because I am gluten and dairy intolerant. I used to find comfort in cheese, cereal, cookies and crackers. But now I can only resort to corn chips, nuts, and apples with peanut butter. I nice glass of Cabernet or a Margarita to go with those corn chips works well, too.

reply

YUM. Hope that you can eat guacamole...it goes so well with a margarita! Not that I'm judging but nice choice of a red wine as well!!

reply

Creamy pasta if I'm eating out, and mac'n'cheese (one of those "smart ones") if I feel like splurging at home. There's something about pasta with heavy cheeses that I just can't resist, especially now that I'm off my adderall!

When I'm stressed, I don't eat. But to answer your question, I love macaroni and cheese. And almost anything with cheese. I love cheese.

I'm currently in my fourth week of an eight weeks challenge which involves an extremely strict meal plan (no carrots, corn, iceberg lettuce, salt, oranges, sugar, honey, or any sweeteners, strawberries, bread, cereal, raisins, juices, nuts, legumes, etc. Basically only 04 ounces of chicken, tuna, cod, tilapia, Turkey, with spinach, celery, brocci, squash, yams, oatmeal, eggs, tomatoes, lemon, pepper, and herbs. Oh, and water and two cups of coffee a day) and training six days a week plus one to three boot camps a week and y'all are making me so hungry. Lol. My favorite food is chicken fried steak with red mashed potatoes and corn. I make delicious chicken pot pie from scratch and I make a very special "Sonnermom Football Chili" and I won a chili cook off. First place. I also love making a traditional Thanksgiving meal from scratch, Mac n cheese, and tuna casserole. And homemade pecan pie. God bless Texas!

reply

Sounds like you are a good cook. I'm sure that makes it harder to keep to that strict diet that you have put yourself on. I truly hope that you will meet your goals and that it will all have been worth it. Lol..will you have a celebratory meal? Yum on the pecan pie. I make them for my son-in-law. Sorry I made you hungry but in solidarity I'm having oatmeal for breakfast.

Be well and be kind.

Mines ice cream. I could eat it all day.

You should also petition on their Facebook, Twitter, other social media sites and could also start a new petition with a different website as well just to make sure they get it.

Oddly I didn't eat it for 30 years. No real reason or maybe there wasn't the Carvel of my youth available. I began eating it again when someone turned me onto the Talente Gelato. Southern Butter Pecan or Pistachio. It has a great taste and has a creamy texture like silk in your mouth. You didn't mention; what's your favorite flavor(s)?

I signed the petition and will miss being able to have little chats like this in the future. I'm trying some other sites that ppl suggested but the ease of using this and the sadness of missing out on some wonderful thinkers thoughts is a bummer.

Be well and be kind.
