I miss the 90s

I just hit 38.... After 9/11 the decades just don't seem like "decades" but years that just blur into another one after another...I even miss the 80s...any thoughts? I know we all get stuck in the decade we came of age, but to me there's just been a real gloomy outlook from people overall concerning this country every year and especially the future. Like we know the best is behind us.
