It hasn't officially been renewed, yet.

reply

RENEWED....
It will return for a 10-episode second season that is slated to premiere on AMC in 2017.

reply

I sure hope so we really enjoyed the show and can't wait for season 2 .

M.K.: "The journey has just begun"

I hope so!!! And i want really, really badly to see the rest of the "journey"! 

sorry for bad spelling and grammars, english isn't my language

reply

I do wonder what is the next part of M.K's journey.

reply

It's getting better as it goes. Would hate to not find out what the deal is with the kung fu super powered monks, Sunny's connection to MK, the widow having been powered at some point ETC. would be very frustrating if its not picked up.

The season was too short. Hope s2 comes soon

Fighting a religious war is like fighting over whose imaginary friend is better.

reply

I had been meaning to watch it whenever I saw the promos before it actually aired, but I kept forgetting. I just watched the marathon and quickly fell in love! I don't get why this season only had 6 episodes. That was really short for a season of any show.

There's a lot of story there and I hope it gets renewed. I think it's got a good chance since AMC lacks many original shows and it's a great show.

I have EXORCISED the demon

AMC always does that with new shows. The Walking Dead and Fear The Walking Dead both started with six-episode seasons.

reply

Always? Maybe you meant "AMC always does that with post-apocalyptic new shows"... 😁

The first season of Halt and Catch Fire has 10 episodes. The same with Hell on Wells, Better Call Saul and Turn. The Killing and Mad men started with 13 episodes...

reply

I think you can blame the lack of a longer season on a high production values.

Exactly.

I just read an interview with Daniel Wu, and he said they're looking at 10-12 episodes for S2, preferably 12. He said it's a balance between shooting schedules and the physical toll on the actors. That Hong Kong style cinema kung fu hasn't really been done in a TV show, with the exception of Marco Polo (which is also new), so Daniel Wu was saying the actors don't get as much time to recover if they sprain something or pull a muscle.

I really hope Veil finds Quinn and patches him up, so he returns for S2.

reply

Oh yeah, having Veil find Quinn and help him recover would be an interesting turn of events! She has no idea what happened to Sunny...or the reason. Can't wait to see how that turns out!

There are so many unanswered questions that could go in any direction. AMC is sitting on a potential goldmine. I'm anxiously awaiting the official word...

reply

Agreed, hope we can the announcement for the renewal and Season 2 soon.

reply

AMC would be wise to cap the show at 10 episodes, shorter/compact seasons, I dont think this series would work with 12-13 episodes a season.

LOL, why? What basis do you have for such a claim?

Not saying it would or wouldn't, just that I don't see a foundation to make that argument on.

There are plenty of articles saying "Into the Badlands" should be renewed, but none saying that it actually has been renewed. Also - there is no mention of it being renewed on the AMC website. Can any of you saying it has been renewed supply a source? Based on ratings and viewer response it makes total sense for it to be renewed, but until it is announced, we can't be certain. Also, if renewed, curious to know when Season 2 will start and how many episodes.

reply

Its pretty much confirmed to be renewed. It just ended 2 weeks ago so they probably are just deciding how many episodes before they announce officially

reply

I just read an article from December 7 where Daniel Wu confirmed that the series would be renewed.
