Why the hell does everybody just watch this duche beating him to death ?

Cuz that's something that happens everyday, how can a whole group of teens let this kind of stuff happen ?

Social Psychology: If one person stepped up to break it up, more would have followed... But no one wants to be the first one to step in. They all think, "hey, there's a whole group of people here... *I* don't need to be the one to put myself in danger to stop this."

If everyone thinks the exact same thing (which history says they do), then of course this is what happens. That's why people need to understand the nature of psychology... So they won't be that D-bag who stands by and does nothing while someone (potentially at least) dies.

And if you're wondering how to combat this yourself, should u ever find yourself in an emergent situation is this:
1. tell yourself, if you don't act, no one else will. In many instances, that's often true.
2. POINT to someone in the crowd directly and say "You, go call 911." point to another and say "You, help me do x, y, and z" etc.. Singling someone out in the crowd makes them now socially obligated to help. They no longer have the luxury of telling themselves, "well, I didn't do anything because no one asked me to." Nor can they say "well, the guy NEXT to me wasn't doing anything... HE should have stepped up."
3... There really isn't a 3. Steps 1 and 2 should cover your bases. In all honesty, it's easy, from a social psychology perspective (sorry, I'm a Psych major lol), to see how things like this can happen... But its also easy to see how you can AVOID them.
People walk around like mindless zombies most of the time... You gotta wake em from their trance in order to get them to see, and to feel, what goes on around them.

Right now, we are alive... And in this moment, I swear... We are infinite.

That’s how it was with me, when I was in elementary school in the 60s and early 70s. A bully or two, and the rest of the kids either watched or cheered.

I imagine it’s still that way.
