Carter went from zero to insane way too fast

His yearning for Leah turned into 'If I can't have you, no one can' way too fast; the murdering of the neighbor and hiding under the bed during their lovemaking was just absurd. There was a good tale about the horrors of stalking by exes somewhere in here but Ealy turning into a supernatural robot killer just made the movie ridiculous (and the turn-the-tables ending done so many times before, i.e. Sally Field in Eye For An Eye).

totally absurd, he was torturing himself unnecessarily and then he lays there listening to them fock and does nothing? unrealistic, this was the same guy that beat up some schmuck for merely talking to leah

Yeah I kinda agree. However we were later told by that cop that Carter had some criminal records. So chances are he might have already killed someone and covered it up. He was quite good at that.

I wouldn't say that. His first outburst was when the gas station attendant started talking to Leah. She found his violent behavior to be off-putting and wasn't really interested in giving him a second chance to redeem himself. He couldn't handle this quickly resorted to taking out anyone who he thought would get in his way of reaching out to her. I've seen a lot of movies like this. This character didn't seem to resort to violence any quicker than other characters did in similar films.

I actually like the turn-the-tables endings, especially for this particular film (and yes, Sally Field's Eye For An Eye came to mind). It's a moment where the victim not longer decides to be the victim, faces the killer and fights back, however, I feel like it was a bit rushed here.

A bit cliched but all-in-all, I liked it. 6/10.

Hope changes everything.
