It's a great show, Why all the hate?

Yes it would be great if we got more "Ellen Time" on the show but I really can't understand all of the negativity. I'm a custom sign maker / graphic designer and I can appreciate the challenges of melding multiple substrates such as plastic, metal and wood to come up with a desirable & functional product.

The "open sandbox" concept of giving the designers a mix of substrates and let them design/produce whatever they can think up is fantastic!

I find it so interesting to watch the processes of these talented people as they go from design to finishing details.

I also appreciate the fact that there is very little of the contrived drama BS that we see in most other reality shows.

Eh, don't let it bother you. If IMDb were a country, negativity would be the national pastime.

If I wanted an avatar, I'd have had one by now.

Most of them are Trolls.

Of course Ellen’s name is just to get people to watch, and she appears onscreen for maybe 4 minutes all season. I couldn’t care less. I love furniture design and think it’s a very interesting show. I know Ellen is the producer, but her appearances really add nothing to a show that’s great to watch anyway.

My date last night was awful. And then he wouldn't even spend the night.

I actually think her screen time takes away from the show - her appearances seem so scripted and forced.

I worked in a furniture shop and built furniture for two years. We had very rudimentary equipment, our table saw was our fanciest piece of equipment. These people have everything and it is so interesting to see all the toys they have available to create what they want. They are making some very high end furniture, the people they have on the show who are judges are no slouches and they are impressed. Anyone who hates the show should just go watch another show and let the people who enjoy it, enjoy it. it is a very good show and shows very accurate details of furniture building from conception to finished product.
