I'm in tears...
In memorium was so great... We lost a lot of great people this year... Now Billy Crystal on Robin Williams! I'm seriously sobbing!

shareBilly Crystal just gave the best "in memory of" speech for Robin Williams.
shareIt was very touching and very beautiful...Robin deserved every bit of it...Just wish it were longer.
shareWait for the oscars it will be big
shareSomehow I doubt it. When Michael Jackson and Peter O'toole they didn't do anything special
shareFor some reason I don't think the same for Robin Williams. He is sure to get something special done.
shareOscars memorials usually doesn't single people for special tribute. I am not saying that is not going happen. The oscars usually don't do special tributes. They didn't do anything special for Shirley Temple, Michael Jackson, Peter O'toole. I think they do that to avoid controversy. Emmys got constroversy for doing an special tribute for Cory Monteith.
sharei was so disappointed in the memorium...the singer was amazing! and that song should be done every year...then i was ready to cry for James Garner and Lauren Bacall because they were greats during their time (and after). then the Robin Williams picture came up and then a loooong pause. then that speech by his long time friend....it didn't move me at all. he was emotional but i didn't get the blah blah blah speech about this great comedian. he said almost the same things that you could say about anybody. the speech should have been shorter and very specific. Just the memories about Robin from his personal experience..and then the clips should have shown us several great Robin Moments. ...and then end with the "Oh Captain, My Captain" scene and then we all could have lost it the way we needed to ... i love Robin Williams and Billy Crystal by the way...so i don't mean to criticize them...
shareThe Oscars singled out John Hughes a few years ago so they may do something next year.
shareJohn Hughes was an extremely private person to the point where he stopped doing films altogether. His son started out in films, he was Miko Hughes, in stuff like pet semetary(spelled wrong purposefully). Played gage, or even full house as Jamie the little kid always pestering Michelle. But altogether, he pulled out of film when john became ill
shareI guess I'm a Debbie Downer but I felt that segment was far too one-sided. No disrespect to Robin Williams. He was definitely a wonderful comedian/entertainer and humanitarian, but I felt it was unfair and biased for Billy Crystal to devote the bulk of attention to him.
shareI agree the Robin Williams tribute should have been a little more concise.
Also, when they showed clips of Robin, they should have had one from Mork and Mindy, his primary television contribution.
