Mohenjo Daro dropped badly in the second weekend grossing around 4 crore nett and taking its total to 54 crore nett plus. The drop is over 85% from the first weekend. Below is the second weekend business of Mohenjo Daro.
Friday - 1,00,00,000
Saturday - 1,25,00,000
Sunday - 1,75,00,000
TOTAL - 4,00,00,000
GRAND TOTAL - 54.23,00,000
The film has performed very poorly but will actually be the highest grossing film for the director as it will cross the 56.04 crore nett of Jodhaa Akbar (2008) by the end of its run. Jodhaa Akbar itself was an under perfromer. The business of the other films by the director are as follows.
Khelein Hum Jee Jan Sey (2010) - 4.66 crore
What's Your Rashee (2009) - 10.13 crore
Swades (2004) - 16.31 crore
Lagaan (2001) - 34.30 crore
Baazi (1995) - 5.09 crore
Obviously inflation adjusted it all changes with Lagaan at 179.62 crore (2015 ticket rates) and Jodhaa Akbar at 89.28 crore (2015 ticket rates). But even here Mohenjo Daro manages third places as Baazi stands at 55.43 crore (2015 ticket rates) and Mohenjo Daro should just surpass that on even on 2016 ticket rates.
