Imagine where we would be if they succeeded in derailing W's reelection

There would have been no housing crisis, we probably wouldn't have been stuck in 2 wars W started, the value of the dollar would not have crashed, the world economy wouldn't have crashed, the stock market wouldn't have decreased by half. Bush isn't currently very popular and he never was a bright guy. The movie makes an implication that maybe he was drunk instead of showing up for a medical, this was probably true since he admitted he was an alcoholic on TV while campaigning. If you don't believe all this just look at Jeb's attempt to get support through his big brother. The Republican party itself may not be in such a state of decay if it hadn't been for W.

You do understand that the two wars were already underway before G W Bush was reelected.

The housing crises started before Bush was elected most notably under Clinton, of course GWB does take some blame (do some research on the subject plenty of good independent sources out there). It was a bubble that was bound to burst research it, you can’t give loans to people who have no means of paying them back. You can’t sell Mortgages with massive balloon payments to people who can’t make the payment. Here’s a tip the next bubble will burst within the next 2 to 5 years Student loans and the stock market is propped up its also bound to burst.

The dollar crashes because the Chinese manipulate their currency. Google “Currency manipulation China”

I don’t think W ever admitted he was an alcoholic if so would love to see the source I know he just decided not to drink anymore which is a big difference. I don’t believe he ever came out and said “I’m an alcoholic”.

Maybe he wasn’t very bright but he did have a higher cumulative score then his opponent at Yale John Kerry (research).

I’m not trying to come off as this GW fan the guy should take blame for a few things invading Iraq number 1.

The basis of this movie was how CBS news, 60 minutes was lazy and showed their bias by running a story that could have been and was easily discredited. Mapes, her team and Dan Rather all got what they deserved. And shouldn’t matter what side of the isle you are on it was flat out wrong and showed she was willing to do whatever it took to sink Bush’s reelection. If any one believes she didn’t do this with full knowledge you are vastly mistaken.

jeff, the two wars were underway as a result of W's first term

The housing crisis was a result of W's loose money policy in order to make every American a homeowner (remember Greenspan quit half way through his term)

W came out on TV and said he's recovering alcoholic during his original campaign, I saw this on the telly, he's also a born again Christian as a result of his alcohol recovery

Its my opinion that if Kerry had been elected instead of Bush in his second term many of these problems would have been worked out. Kerry is much brighter than Bush. Don't really care what they say at Yale

Things were so bad during W that oil producing companies were considering using the Euro to price their commodity rather than the dollar. At the beginning of W's term you could buy a Euro for $.70 at the end of W's term it costs over $1.40 to buy a Euro

You are making no sense, in your first post you wrote;
“We probably wouldn’t have been stuck 2 wars"

In your 2nd post you wrote;
“The two wars were underway as a result of W’s first term”

Which is what I originally said so even if he didn’t get reelected we were still involved in two wars. You really need to read what you wrote.

“The housing crisis was result of W’s loose money policy in order to make every American a homeowner”

This again makes no sense the balloon was destined to burst before even W took office, to put the blame squarely on him is insane. Yes he takes part of the responsibility but if you look at the link below from Time (no Rightwing publication), it will tell you it was a team effort to make that bubble burst.

http://content.time.com/time/specials/packages/completelist/0,29569,1877351,00.html

Not mentioned in that list are Barney Frank and Chris Dodd who also share in responsibility. In my opinion the true guilty party is the American people for taking out loans they had no way of ever paying back (the Time article even states that). Plus on top of that they then took whatever cash they could get out of their houses on property that was so overvalued it just added more debt.

“W came out on TV and said he’s a recovering alcoholic”

Again no where can I find him saying “hi I’m George Bush and I’m an alcoholic” or just admitting he was one. Please send the link so I can see it. Again until I see it someone quitting drinking does not make them an alcoholic.

“He’s also a born again Christian as a result of his alcohol recovery”

That statement is ridicules, he could be Jewish, Buddhist, Muslim, Catholic or anything or nothing and stop drinking. If his faith in G-d helped him to stop drinking why is that a bad thing?

“Kerry is much brighter than Bush”

Are you sure your talking about John Kerry current Secretary of state who invited James Taylor to sing “You got a Friend” after the terrorist attack on Charlie Hebdo who was ridiculed at home and around the world. The same guy who just said “the Media would do us all a service if they didn’t cover terrorism quite as much”, out of sight out of mind. I guess Kerry wants us all to be Officer Barbrady from South Park “nothing to see here”. John Kerry the guy who parks his multimillion dollar yacht in Rhode Island to save hundreds of thousands in taxes. From the guy who claims the rich need to pay their share of taxes then skips out on paying taxes, you can’t make this stuff up. He will go down as one of the worst Secretary of States in American History.

You really need to research and not claim things are true because you want to believe them.

I’m not trying to defend W as he made many mistakes and screwed things up but what you are doing is basically what was done in the movie paint a false narrative.

What about the " chads " in Florida .. Gore was supposed to be president .. I guess we will never know .. but I do wonder about it from time to time .

I had to stop reading your ridiculous post after the first sentence.

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were deregulated under Bill Clinton...this in and of itself, caused the housing and mortgage crisis.

Most 7th graders know this.

Imagine where we would be if they succeeded in derailing W's reelect

Thats really not the question you should be asking, after all, Bush had already done so much damage at that point. The real question you should be asking is, imagine where we would be if the US Supreme Court hadn't completely failed the US public and actually awarded the original Bush election to the true winner, that of course being Gore. I will never forget the level of corruptness and ridiculesness that reared its head during that election. Everything from the hanging CHAD's in Florida to the very CLEAR problems that arose in districts all over the Ohio election that were basically utterly ignored....well, I for one will never look upon the US government the same ever again. That was really the first time I truly realized that our government was no longer a government by the people for the people and that corruptness had literally seeped its way into our entire political system. And the thing that I find so frightening about that realization is that so many other people recognized it as well, and have come to recognize it in the time that has passed since then, and yet nothing is really being done about it.

The US government has become one of the most corrupt government regime's on the entire planet. Dwight D. Eisenhower was truly the one who really saw it coming. His speech in 1961 that spoke about the dangers of a miltary industrial complex was 100% right on the mark and while I am not sure just what Gore could have done to steer us from the path that were currently on, I have absolutely ZERO doubt that we would be in a FAR better position today had Bush never been allowed to step foot in the White House. He truly is one of the most corrupt and dishonest people to ever hold the office and the true damage he has done could very well be felt for generations to come.

Still Shooting With Film!

First off, George W. Bush did not want to be POTUS. That was Daddy's idea. W. would have been content being owner of the Texas Rangers. With deep research, there are many articles on why Al Gore won. I too lost my faith in the government when the Supreme Court appointed Bush president. Bad start all the way around. Bush was laid back and not smart enough to be president. The party knew it, so they got him Darth Vader (Dick Cheney) to run the show.

Cheney was all about making money, building war equipment, and making friends' rich. Who is to be blamed for not being alerted with the advance warning about airplanes crashing into buildings? Not sure. 9-11 is our horror.

Several have gone into the crashed economy and two unnessary wars. 5000+ lives lost and what do we have to show for it? Both Al Gore and John Kerry could drive circles around W's brain. He didn't show up for his military duty because he was in another state working on some Senator's campaign. I am surprised that wasn't mentioned in the film. So, Dubya can go down in history as one of our worse Presidents ever. His approval rating at the end of his second term reflected that. There are scandals not even brought up. The film did show the power of the government against media. "Do not tell."

Both sides broke the law including the courts . the laws say that if the election is "shady" the house is to vote on It. AT the time the Dems controlled the house, thus if they followed the law Gore would of won. this happened in Jefferson vs Aaron Burr, which ended a tie the congress voted Jefferson.

You give way too much credit to one man. Things would probably have mostly played out the same no matter who the President was. Government and buerocrats run things not just one man at the top.

Bush won the election by only 350 votes or close to that. Yes, imagine if he lost. It would have changed the course of history.
