Horizon and Renegades are feature length fan films. Due to Paramount owning the rights to Star Trek no monies can be made selling the films. Both of these films and Star Trek Axanar as well have been funded by Kickstarter and Indie Go Go. What is amazing is the quality that these indie films are achieving without any major studio involvement. Renegades and Axanar actually have actors from various sci fi productions.
