This coming of age story really looks like it should have been a cult classic. Why do I not see underground raving fans?

Cult classics aren't branded as such instantly, they become them in time.

This. I think it being on Netflx will certainly help it gain some additional visibility. I though it was great and really stuck with me.

Because this movie has only been out maybe 4 months?

Do you think "cult classic" is just a genre of film?

I'm trying to understand your train of thought

reply

In order for a movie to become a cult classic, it takes a long time for it to go largely unrecognized, then years later it becomes a big deal.

reply

Different genre, but an excellent example is "A Christmas Story."

How did "Soul Plane" get to become a cult classic? Give it time!

"Time for me is nothin cause I'm counting no age!"

reply

Ha ha Soul Plane, never heard of it and had to check out the trailer. Thanks for the enlightenment.

reply

Cause it's 6 months old 

Also, The Wood (1999) is a whole bunch better

I guess that you don't know what the word Classic actually means

To make a great film you need three things - the script, the script and the script -Alfred Hitchcock

I'm gonna refuse you an offer you can't make
