really disappointed

As a "Modern Gay" I am nothing but disappointed with this show. I loved queer as folk when I was younger because it truly captured the scene i was about to walk out on to. Now that I am mid 20s everything has changed. Grated the seedy drug scene still exists but this isn't the be all and end all of a homosexual male. Infact this show does nothing but lends itself to the sterotypes amd stigma society bestows upon gay men. The inclusion of grindr and other new technology does not aid in what was a great concept in the 90s to be modernised for todays audiences.

Funny in parts but depressing. Is this all we have to look forward to in our forties?

I'm ****ing Irish. I'll deal with something being wrong for the rest of my life.

So what you're saying is that you do not want them to portray "modern gay" life as it really is. Right? If you want a Disney version of gay life then watch the Road to El Dorado.
The original QaF wasn't as drug filled or sex crazed as the American version, which was far more outrageous and unrealistic than this series.

Amercan version of QAF was down-right depressing. I'm hell-a-glad my life never turned out that sad and pathetic. Cucumber, for better or worse, more closely resembles life for the mid-40's set...unless you are vapid and concerned about muscle and youth...in which case, you'll never really win.
