This says nothing to me about my life...

...and I'm as gay as a can of Lemon Pledge. So bloody depressing.

I'm ****ing Irish. I'll deal with something being wrong for the rest of my life.

I quite liked the fact that it wasn't yet another tv show or film about gay people that isn't a. about HIV or b. people experiencing horrendous homophobia or c. struggling over their religion in the context of being gay. I can relate to the characters, but none of their stories match mine. I'm just pleased we've moved on a bit from all those depressing gay themed things I grew up watching (or that awful Channel 4 thing a few years back that showed a guy cheating at his wedding and another gay guy being beaten up by a skrewed up pick-up). More happy and nice gay people please!

More happy and nice gay people? What show are you watching? No one in this show is happy or remotely close to being nice, they're all *beep* up people with no redeeming qualities.

I like the people n this show, probably because I'm far from flawless, so I can understand why people lose their way while trying to do their best in a world where they don't always fit.

Perhaps it's because I'm getting old that I think this was a good episode. I understand internalised self-hate more than younger people do. I still see a lot of denial around me. I'm glad that it's hard for your people not to be able to relate to this, because that must mean it's getting better out there.

For me it resonated and I'm still saddened by it.

It's not about you, it's about these characters and how they live. Not everyone is the same.

Hey, everyone has holes in their knowledge. Don't beat yourself up about it.
