Stupid Police sirens

Made me laugh when they kept blaring the sirens on every time they drove the police cars - even though they're just travelling down a country lane with no other traffic about or just casually driving to a destination. The sirens surely weren't needed. Even when they went to apprehend the killer at his home, why would they "warn" him of their approach with sirens blasting? A tad over-dramatic and unrealistic?

They were just sitting outside waiting for him - I don't think we saw them approach, did we?

Yes it was glaringly unnecessary to blare their sirens as they drove down a peaceful country road.

But the sirens were definitely out of sight (they were in an unmarked car) as the lead detectives waited outside the perp's home.
