I might be mistaken but the FBI guys questioning Bria refer couple of times to 'November 25th, 2018' as some date in the past. Does this show take place some time in the nearest future? If so, why?

I never realized that,,,good catch. The show ended tonight and it was the oddest finale in both stories.
