Lack of hype

I am having a hard time understanding the lack of hype for this show. I stay very up to date on Cable television shows and yet I didn't hear about the show until well after it aired and from conservative talk show host Michael Savage out of all places. Absolutely loved the show, almost stunned really. The direction, writing, acting, lighting, everything about it was superb. Why did we not hear about it and why are we not hearing anything about season 2?
