Worst Ending Ever?

I was thinking I was going to give this movie an 8/10...then the last 10 minutes dropped it down to a 5. I've seen some bad endings in my day, but never something that so thoroughly ruined a movie before.

He was her pimp all along?! You expect us to believe that he was so committed to recovering the money that she owed him that he would make that his top priority in the middle of a zombie apocalypse? He sees society collapsing all around him and he's worried about getting his money back? He's watching thousands of people turn into zombies all around him, and he's thinking, "I still need my money back from that whore!?" He cares about that more than saving himself? He still thinks money has any meaning when everyone around him is a goddamn zombie? It is simply mind-boggling.

I can totally see someone making a movie where a pimp pretends to be a prostitute's father to trick her boyfriend into helping him track her down and that would be a pretty interesting psychological thriller, even, but in the middle of a zombie apocalypse it becomes downright ridiculous.

I was not expecting a happy ending or anything, but to make the whole thing all about THAT made it the most incongruous ending imaginable.

Absolutely agree. It almost made me bang my head against the wall. But I was already pretty frustrated before that happened: Way too many characters behaving like complete idiots. (To be fair, that seems to be the case in most zombie movies.)

Totally agree. It really ruined the entire movie, which up until the ending was quite interesting for being a zombie apocalypse movie.

I think you missed the point the same way people did with Rampage. The movie got real grim, fully depraved, it was painful to watch it end like that. But eliciting that emotion, by showing such extreme and uncommon but still real and gritty themes, it's a window into the human experience only an artist can provide. Even if it feels morally reprehensible, I feel like these aren't topics people like to consider but are actually really out there and should sometimes be considered.

Morally reprehensible? I never said anything about the morality of what the "daddy" character did. I was saying that it was stupid and illogical to be worried about something like money when society is collapsing all around you. What was he planning to do when he got his money back from her? Buy stuff? From one of the shops that hasn't been overrun by zombies and is still actually accepting money instead of something useful?

I think you missed the point of my original post. As I said, this could have been a really interesting movie about a pimp pretending to be a girl's father to track her down, but the backdrop of a zombie apocalypse made it absurd beyond belief.

I don't think it was really about the money for him. He was sexually obsessed with her, like a stalker.

When she died, his first reaction was, "Don't die, baby! Don't do that to me! It's all my fault!"
