Why wasn't his death covered

Four hour documentary, I assumed it would end with his funeral, but it didn't even cover his death. I can't think of the reason. Any ideas out there? Is death unimportant in a biography?

reply

Didn't you know he died? Seriously, I believe the family wanted to end it on a high note. Good idea.

reply

This documentary time line was his early years to the "retirement" and "comeback"

reply

Ending with a triumphant version of New York was fine, it was more about his music than life.

It would've been a depressing end. Note that they didn't even show him in his very later years... the early 90's and after. I saw him at Radio City in 1995 and he was forgetting lines to the songs like crazy, but the more he forgot them the more the crowd cheered and applauded. The love for him was so palpable, you could see how he and his music had deeply touched everyone that was there that night. And as great as it was, it was also a little bittersweet since here he was in his waning years and it really showed. I'm sure they didn't want to show that in the doc since the whole thing was about how much of a giant he was in talent, success, etc. To show him as an old man and then show his funeral no less would've taken away from all of the highlights we saw over the four hours.

I saw him at Radio City as well. It was in 1994, not 1995. He remembered everything, except the order of the setlist. When reminded, he could rattle off every detail about the tune and the original recording.

reply

He didn't really die. He faked his death and split to Africa. He's there with Jim Morrison.

reply

Oh really, Frank Sinatra faked his death and lives in Africa with Jim Morrison?

I read Sinatra was shot onstage with a cheap World War II surplus Italian rifle (Carcano, I think it was), though some sources claim it was a German Mauser model, two bullets fired and one of which also went through Dean Martin, who was making a guest appearance with his fellow Rat Packer (though no one noticed that, as everyone already thought Martin died years before).

The two old Rat Packers survived the attack, but were severely brain-damaged and spent their remaining years living in a Brazilian villa, under the watchful care of ex-Nazis and catered to by swarthy houseboys wearing pixie haircuts that resembled the younger Mia Farrow. The actress Ava Gardner was right when she said Frankie "got what he always wanted, he's finally married a boy."

That's a funny conspiracy story lol.

I wish he were still alive so I could go see him live in concert :( I adore him.

But yeah I did think they'd just say how he died at the end if nothing else. I mean I know how but some people may have forgotten or not know who watched, maybe because they just don't know much about him but liked him enough to watch. They could've just said a sentence. But I guess they probably did want to go out on a high.
