Waste of time and money

Not the worst program I've seen on TV but it comes close. Full of clichรฉs and as predictable as taxation. The money could have been spent better getting a story that actually makes sense and would be believable. Please I do hope there's not a second series.

Enjoyed it a good amount myself. To each his own.

reply

I too enjoyed it very much. It was different and quirky.

i really liked it roll on the second series

reply

And why would you hope there isn't a second series if nobody is forcing you to watch it?? I don't get the logic.

reply

I think the logic is to spend the subscription money on something else instead of a second series... to be fair i'd have to agree, this show started off quite well but it fell apart fast.. I could pick holes in it all day.. from the absurd storyline of the daughter.. to setting up Jean as this meticulous intelligent guy who goes on to make so many stupid mistakes.. not to mention the actor is 32 and he looks it.. he doesn't look like he's been married 15years with a teenager or two... season 2 in a nutshell.. nelson clay wants jean to kill martin just like he did victor.. 'to save his family'..

reply

I'm on the last episode having loved it so far. Martin is a riot! @Poster: As for "believability" you may prefer documentaries.. this is fictional drama intended primarily to entertain not educate.

What a strange comment. A lot of people, including me, got really absorbed into this series. So why would you actually hope there ISN'T a second series when a lot of other people would like there to be? It's not as if you would be forced to to watch it.

reply

I enjoyed the first season very much. Sorry you did not. I am looking forward to a second season.

reply

Who the *beep* money are you talking about? Your own?

reply

I had forgotten all about this series until I came across it on imdb. I liked it and thought the interaction between the main characters was quite believable. I hope there is a season two because as I recall there were some unresolved issues but I don't exactly remember what they were.

I enjoyed it, although plotholes are everywhere. It's especially odd how Julie never seeks out help whenever she is in life threatening danger. Like when Victor was in her garage and she saw him AS Jean was walking out the door. She knew his intentions and yet she still just walks out there all nonchalant to talk to Victor.

Every one makes so many stupid decisions and mistakes in the show, even though their life is literally at stake.

Im guessing a season two was planned long ago but got delayed because the show wasn't doing too well? But yeah, it left off on a disappointing cliffhanger, which makes me feel like I wasted all my time watching the show on Netflix. The people behind this show were wayyy too confident that they'd be back to finish the rest of the story off via a season 2, to an actual satisfactory climax.

reply

IMDb list a second series to start sometime in 2017 and I'm pretty sure I remember reading it got renewed a while ago. I agree on the stupid decision the cast makes. I really liked it though. I didn't think I would but figured I'd give it a shot. The daughter making those mistakes is understandable given her age. A lot of teens make the same mistake she did. The wife going into the garage to see Victor was really stupid though. She should have known better.

Well, I don't know. I like it. I find it enjoyable to watch. I'm not really the type to pick apart a series for believability or anything though unless it is grossly devoid of any value in any form. Series that ARE particularly good do stand out to me, of course, but. Sometimes I like turning off my brain and letting a show tell me a story without thinking too deeply.

Plus, y'know, Marc-Andre Grondin has been at the top of my celebrity crush list for a good several years. ;)

I don't think the acting is bad at all, though the dialogue at times feels a bit.. stilted maybe, to use a typical term. And there are some things that don't seem thought out well enough. Buuuuut meh. There's drama. There's conflict. There's a pretty man. So I'm looking forward to another season, so far (only a few episodes in).
